RSSM Professional Stories

I came to the firm basically out of SUNY Albany in 1981 starting as a junior accountant anxious to learn everything there is to know about public accounting. Well I am happy to state that in 1990 I became a Partner and in 1996 I became a Partner on the Executive Committee and I’m still learning! RSSM operates like an extension of my family. Partners and staff really care about the well being of one another, as well as developing a professional quality product. It has been fun getting to where I am today and I look forward to the future of the firm.

CPA - Partner

After completing my MBA, I started in the public accounting industry at a firm where I gained experience in both audit and tax. After passing the CPA exam, I decided that I wanted to specialize in taxation. I spent a year at another firm where I specialized in the taxation of high net worth individuals. Although the work was interesting and challenging, the firm itself left a lot to be desired. Like many others at that firm, I felt the need to find a better work atmosphere. That is when I made a great career decision by joining the RSSM tax department. I have been at RSSM for over 15 years and have found the work interesting, challenging and rewarding. But unlike my previous firm, RSSM has been a much better fit for me. This is not just because of the various types of tax work I have been exposed to here, but also because of the employees I work with and because the firm recognizes the need to balance work and family.
